As you can tell by its presence as a classifying category on this blog, I really like the whole concept of musical transcriptions. It's like having a costume party with your friends, seeing a familiar piece of music decked out in a different outfit. The same, yet changed!
Silly ol' Baby Boomer me first encountered Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemp through its (abridged and rearranged) use in Fantasia. What a fine movie experience that is, whether or no you follow the religion of evolution.
