What Dreams These Be

It’s a 1997 release, found in Dave’s thrift store.  As you might imagine from the “style” of the guys on the cover, and the time period of release, this music sounds like an emulation of the background songs on WB/CW teen dramas.

01. World Party (6:00)
02. Roses (3:11)
03. Jade (3:16)
04. Under Tow (4:09)
05. Box Of Nerves (5:06)
06. Bury Me Low (5:27)
07. Regga Song (5:49)
08. The Spread (3:36)
09. Mission Control (5:33)

But SOMEBODY likes it, right?

Right?

THIS LINK GOOD FOR THREE DAYS.

A 1996 release.  While some of the artists produced some of the best “New Age” music, it cannot be said that this album contains it.

Some of the stuff is pretty dreamy, though.

See you on Monday.

Get Down from There Before You Hurt Yourself!

I mean, if you fell off one of the Andes Mountains, wouldn't it be a long way down?

01. 500 Años (2:53)
02. Vuela Vuela (3:06)
03. Sueños (3:48)
04. Enpedrado (4:06)
05. Taquirari Triste (3:41)
06. Mutaco (3:50)
07. Lagunerito (3:00)
08. Tenpestad (5:08)
09. Negra Guitarrita (2:59)
10. Canela en Flor (3:09)
11. Rosita (3:32)
12. Golondrina (3:29)

My date of 1999 for this release is a guess going by other titles on this label.  A little of this goes a long way.  It ain’t irritatin’, it’s just monotonous.

See how you feel!

Fluting Along

It's a 1985 release.

01. Sh'Daymatee = My Field (3:43)
02. Veahaya Ketz Shatul = Like a Rooted Tree (2:13)
03. Ez Ve Kevesse = The Ram and the Ewe (1:49)
04. Polka Tcherkesse (Simple) (1:49)
05. Polka Tcherkesse (Double) (1:56)
06. Leorch Chiyouher = In the Warmth of Your Smile (3:38)
07. Banot Alena (2:56)
08. Zemer Atick (3:21)
09. Kalou Raglayim = Les Us Dance Joyfully (2:06)
10. Roeh Veroah = The Shepherd and the Shepherdess (2:24)
11. Debka Ouria = Dance of the Hero (2:56)
12. Ma Naavou = How Beautiful They Are (2:56)

I was intrigued to observe that plenty of these selections do not sound like stereotypical “Jewish” music, all minor keys or dreary cadences.  Some of these sound like snake-charmer dances, others like sailors’ hornpipes, or …. ?

Although I would have liked ’em a lot better without the wolf whistles and catcalls!

You decide!  See you on Monday.

PS -- LESS THAN A MONTH UNTIL SPOOKY SPOCK-TOBER!
