I don’t know why Reger’s music is fascinating. It’s sometimes hard to follow, yet always seems self-assured. “Follow me into this moebius strip,” it entices. “If you follow me, you’ll be safe.” Of course, you might also be tied in knots!
After what seems an eternity of listless, unfortunate offerings, here we have something of substance & worth.
