Yep, this 1999 CD was a cash-in on the "Butterfly Kisses" phenom. "The Sunset Singers" were no doubt a few studio singers backed by a handful of synth/instrumentalists.
Thank God I'm not familiar with all of these songs well enough to say if these versions are accurate reproduction. But they ARE pretty self-consciously flamboyant.

Any of these wailing, would-be soulful and wannabe hip renditions would have been right at home on KMGL, OKC's emotion-milking radio station. That's the same one that starts playing "Xmas" music about Halloween.
