Donnerwetter!

Here we got another entry from the Environments series.

It's a combo disc, as shown in the original Lp cover:
THIS LINK GOOD FOR SEVEN DAYS.

PERMANENT LINK (assuming FileFactory responds).

Good luck, campers!

PS Evidently “The Psychologically Ultimate Thunderstorm” contains traffic sounds!  You can hear car horns in several places.  This is because it was recorded from somebody’s upper-floor balcony in NYC.

PPS "Donnerwetter" is German for "thunder weather," and I understand it is sometimes used as an expletive.  See you Thursday!

Beam Me Out

You may feel that way after listening to this 2010 release.

01. Introduction and Woven in Joy (9:18)
02. Deer Spirit (5:13)

You'll Never Forget, Will Ya?

From the fabled Y2K ... comes the kind of release this blogger drools over, in its sheer audacity and/or wackiness.

01. Thung Kwian Sunrise (6:07)
02. Temple Music (3:00)
03. Rainforest (1:49)
04. JoJo (3:45)
05. Duo for Renats (1:42)
06. Big Band (2:52)
07. Swing Swing Swing (3:44)
08. Percussion Trio (2:33)
09. Luuk Kob's Diddley Bow Feature (4:27)
10. Harmonica Music (4:55)
11. Heavy Logs (4:46)
12. Now We're Off to Paint (4:33)
13. Elephant Field Recordings (3:39)
14. Somneuk & Four Elephants (3:20)
15. Trio for Theremin & Electric Keyboard (2:02)
16. Ken's Wind Instrument (2:49)
17. Big Elephant Saddle (4:09)
18. Somneuk's Renat Solo (2:22)
19. Chang Chang Chang (0:30)

Well, it’s certainly bemusing.  If by “music” you mean sounds created intentionally, then you got some music here, buddy.

You'll find more illumination in the 12-page booklet.  See you on Monday, fellow animal listeners!

For the Twelfth!

Since we don't have eighteen months in the year, we're never gonna have a 18/12. So here we are on 1/12.

01. 1812 Overture, Op. 49 (15:39)
02. Symphony #5 In E Minor, Op. 64 - 1. Andante, Allegro Con Anima (15:29)
03. Symphony #5 In E Minor, Op. 64 - 2. Andante Cantabile, Con Alcuna Licenza (13:12)
04. Symphony #5 In E Minor, Op. 64 - 3. Valse: Allegro Moderato (6:01)
05. Symphony #5 In E Minor, Op. 64 - 4. Finale: Andante maestoso (11:25)

It's an interesting import, “made in Belgium.”  I immediately noticed that the banner across the bottom does not spell “minutes” correctly.  I would have wished for more flourishes in the “1812,” but it’s an OK performance of some good music.

See you Thursday!

Here's Hoping!

Here in the Central Plains of the USA we've been dry for awhile. But the weather prognosticators say rain is coming in a few hours. In that spirit, we present ...
One track:  Thunderstorm & Chopin (53:21)

Somebody explain to me why thunder crackling is supposed to help me relax!  It should come as no surprise that the piano playing is mixed loud enough to compete with the thunder and rain.

If you feel relaxed, let somebody know!  See you Monday.

Dare You Dream?

That's the challenge of this 1993 cassette.

03. Painted Skies (3:17)
04. Tales of Paradise (3:31)

08. Morning on Emerald Lake (5:05)
09. Flowers in Bloom (3:42)
10. Seeds of Happiness (4:30)
11. Blue Reverie (4:26)

Of course, I can't promise WHAT KIND of dreams may come.

When you awaken, please don’t sue me to recover these 45 minutes—I warned you in advance!  However, if you want some nice background music to listen to at the bowling alley or while touring a sawmill, this is for you.

When you return from dreamland, come back on Thursday!

02. Superman: The Movie - Main Title (4:34)

06. Love Theme From Superman (5:37)
07. Superman: The Columbia Serial (1:01)

14. Supergirl - Main Title (2:46)
15. Main Title - Superman III (The Streets of Metropolis) (5:23)
16. Superman: The Max Fleischer Cartoon (1:37)

Why o why?  “Money, my dear boy.”  You could argue that this is a handy compendium for those who are fans, but not fans enough to have rounded up the original recordings.

At least they admit these aren’t the originals.  And here’s the rub, unless you’re one of those lazy semi-fans:  To the extent that these performances deviate from the original recordings, they’re worthless.  And to the extent that they replicate the original recordings (nowhere, in fact), they’re unnecessary!

Well, now you may grouse for yourself.  What do you think?

See you Monday!
