MA-98 - Defying Disco in the 70s

The world of 1970s pop music was much more than disco!  I know, I was there.  There was the wonderful mainstream stuff like Tracks 2 or 11 to oddball comedy like Tracks 7 or 14.  And then stuff with a serious message, like Tracks 1 or 23.  Draw your own conclusions about songs like Tracks 9, 10, or 21.

01 - Don't Dictate - Penetration   1977  (2:54)
02 - (They Long to Be) Close to You (album version) - Carpenters   1970  (4:32)
03 - Computer Games - Mi-Sex   1979  (4:01)
04 - Gidget Goes to Hell - Suburban Lawns   1979  (2:03)
05 - Clap Your Hands - Bonnie St Clair and Unit Gloria   1972  (3:58)

14 - Ain't Gonna Bump No More - Joe Tex   1977  (3:32)

16 - Heartbreaker - Jenny Darren   1978  (3:05)

19 - They Don't Know - Kirsty MacColl   1979  (3:02)
20 - Waldorf - Edith Nylon   1979  (2:28)
21 - Too Young to Date - D-Day   1979  (2:35)
22 - Teenarama - The Records   1979  (4:00)
23 - Part-Time Punks - Television Personalities   1979  (2:39)

Regarding Track 6 -- did you know that Lulu and David Bowie were "an item" in the 1970s?  That's Bowie singing background and playing sax.

Great music can make for great reminiscences, or new memories!
