Jesse "Cheesy" Crawford Is Comin' to Town
If you want to sink into imagined 1950s Christmas chintz, here's the ticket.
Your basic bio from that Wiki thing: Jesse Crawford (December 2, 1895 – May 28, 1962), was a US pianist and organist. He was well known in the 1920s as a theater organist for silent films and as a popular recording artist. In the 1930s, he switched to the Hammond organ and became a freelancer. In the 1940s, he authored instruction books on organ and taught organ lessons.
Discogs has him down for 29 LPs, plus other releases. This particular album originally came out in 1962 and has about ten different versions or releases listed, for this one record.
The songs:
1) Joy to the World
2) Hark the Herald Angels Sing
3) Santa Claus Is Coming to Town
4) It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
5) Deck the Halls
6) Away in the Manger
7) Good King Wenceslas
8) Oh Holy Night
9) Oh Come All Ye Faithful
10) We Three Kings
11) Jingle Bells
12) What Child Is This
13) God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
14) O Little Town of Bethlehem
15) Silent Night
If you close your eyes and wish real hard while listening, you may start to feel you are in a roller rink!
Cheese to the World!
