Home-Taping Relic

In the 1980s I assembled a cassette for my own enjoyment from a few soundtrack LPs, a few rearrangements, and several recorded by holding a microphone in front of my TV speaker.  The two "suites" and the several extended/edited themes were recorded back in the days of physical buttons on cassette decks for PAUSE -- unlike more recent decks that "paused" by disengaging the tape heads -- and required a long process of trial-and-error.

Anyways, this is a 1980s relic that some of you might enjoy at least one listening-to.  I was pretty proud of the STAR TEK TV Theme before a magnet or gaussing process made the whole track phase in and out...

  1. This is cool, Mark, thanks! I used to have tapes of movie and TV themes, recording them much the same way that you did. Unfortunately, all of those tapes are gone now. :(
