Fass-Kinatin'!

That's what Popeye would say!

01. Syncopation (3:02)
02. Intersection (Fantasy for Electronic Sound and Orchestra) (5:31)
03. Drifting (3:14)
04. Vibration (3:11)
05. Song of the Second Moon (2:50)
06. Whirling (2:37)
07. Mechanical Motions (7:27)
08. Pianoforte (5:07)

A fun 1962 release.  It’s all interesting and not too dissonant or aimless, the way much early electronic “music” is.  Track 2 has long sequences which would make great background music for a 1960s private-eye show.

“Song of the Second Moon” is also found on  1963’s  Electronic Music by “The Electrosoniks.”

THIS LINK GOOD FOR SEVEN DAYS.

See you on Monday, fellow music lovers!

Don't Take a Bite

On this Memorial Day, let's remember the heights and depths to which Man's knowledge can lead him.

Knowledge is great. It's the APPLICATION of that knowledge that we sometimes take less responsibly than we should. Just ask Victor Frankenstein.

01 - Rockin' at Ground Zero - The Gears - 1980  (1:45)

02 - Ten More Shopping Days Till the Bomb - The Weeds - 1967  (3:02)

03 - A Letter from the Shelter - Planet P Project - 1984  (5:22)

04 - Nuclear Device (The Wizard of Aus) - The Stranglers - 1979  (3:32)

05 - No War No More - Uproar - 1982  (2:51)

06 - American Neutron - Citizen 23 - 1980  (2:14)

07 - Radiation - Perfect Gentlemen - 1987  (3:45)

08 - Missiles - The Sound - 1980  (5:26)

09 - Steps - Leningrad Sandwich - 1983  (5:06)

10 - Back in 1984 - Cerebral Hemorrhage - 1984  (4:56)

23 - Nuke Up Now! - Sado-Nation - 1983  (2:32)

24 - Holocaust Hop - The End - 1983  (2:16)

We start and end this depressing chronicle of fatalism with some dance steps.  Even though (so far) the most pessimistic fears of atomic angst haven’t come true, if it’s got a beat, you can dance to it!

See you on Thursday for our final installment.

In our musical survey from the Fifties to the Eighties, one thing remains:  the human capacity to throw some creativity at an old topic to generate some new moolah!

No fears, friends, this comp is FREE of charge to you!  Come back Thursday for more!
