The First Walpurgis Night!

Here's a great bit of musical magic from Mendelssohn.

Die Erste Walpurgisnacht
01. Overture (8:44)
02. May Is in Full Bloom (3:57)
03. Could You Be So Rash, So Daring? (1:56)
04. Whoever Fears to Sacrifice (1:37)
05. Divide Your Forces, Gallant Men (1:40)
06. Stupid Christians and Priest (0:28)
07. Come with Prongs and Pitchforks (5:57)
08. It's Come So Far That Now by Night (2:47)
09. Help, O Help Me, Comrade (1:02)
10. The Flame Is Purified by Smoke (2:08)

A Midsummer's Night Dream
11. Overture (12:25)
12. Scherzo (5:01)
13. Fairies’ March (1:24)
14. Spotted Snakes (4:10)
15. Intermezzo (3:31)
16. Nocturne (5:33)
17. Wedding March (4:43)
18. Fanfare (0:28)
19. Funeral March (1:19)
20. Dance of the Clowns (1:45)
21. Finale, In the Fire (4:49)

You can look up the text for Die Erste Walpurgisnacht.  It's a very sarcastic presentation of credulous so-called Christians encountering some gentle nature worshippers and deciding that these weirdos are embodiments of Satan himself!

I hope you are more tolerant of other peoples' religious beliefs.  See you on Monday for the beginning of a MAXI MUSICAL MONTH OF MAY!
